When You Feel Forgotten by God

There are moments in life when silence feels louder than any storm. You’ve prayed, waited, and hoped but nothing seems to change. It’s in those quiet, aching seasons that the enemy whispers, “God has forgotten you.” And if we’re honest, sometimes we believe him.

I’ve been there. I’ve sat in the waiting rooms of life, watching others receive their breakthroughs while I felt stuck and unseen. I questioned God’s timing, His plan, even His love. But what I didn’t know then was that silence isn’t absence. God was still working, just beneath the surface, in ways I couldn’t yet see.

The Bible is full of people who felt forgotten, Joseph in the prison, Hannah in her barrenness, David in the fields. But none of them were truly alone. God was writing a bigger story. And He’s doing the same for you.

If you feel overlooked right now, I want to remind you: your name is engraved on His hands (Isaiah 49:16). You are not invisible. You are not forgotten. God sees the tears you cry when no one is looking. He hears every whispered prayer. And even if the answer hasn’t come yet, His delay is not His denial. Remember the words of Psalm 27:14: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Keep showing up. Keep trusting Him. The silence won’t last forever, and when the answer does come, you’ll see it was worth the wait. As Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”
