Embracing Your Purpose Through Life’s Storms

Have you ever felt like asking, “God, is this really what You want for me?” Or perhaps you’ve wondered, “God, this isn’t what You showed me!” It’s easy to question the path we’re walking when we face obstacle after obstacle. But what if those obstacles are not signs that we’re on the wrong path, but instead, proof that we’re destroying the enemy’s kingdom?

The truth is, when you are truly walking in the calling God has for you, opposition will arise. The enemy will do everything in his power to stop you from fulfilling your purpose. 1 Peter 5:8 warns us: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” When you begin to destroy the enemy’s kingdom, expect resistance. If everything is smooth sailing and there’s no opposition, it might be a sign that you’re not truly making the kind of impact God has called you to make.

The Bible is full of stories of individuals who faced intense opposition but persevered because they were in the center of God’s will. Nehemiah faced mocking and threats while rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. Moses had to stand against Pharaoh’s resistance to free the Israelites. David was hunted by Saul, even though he was anointed to be king. In all of these cases, the opposition didn’t mean they were on the wrong path it meant they were on the right one.

God’s calling isn’t always easy, and it isn’t always clear in the moment, but Romans 8:28 assures us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The obstacles you face are not a sign that you’re off course; they are often a confirmation that you are moving in the right direction.

When God places you in a position to destroy the enemy’s kingdom, you must face opposition. This is part of the process of growing and refining your faith. In James 1:2-4, we are told, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” The obstacles that come your way are not just battles to overcome they are opportunities for growth and strength.

If you’re facing opposition today, remember this: God has already equipped you for the challenges ahead. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” You are not fighting alone. With God’s strength, you can overcome any obstacle that comes your way.

The greater the calling, the greater the opposition. But know that in the midst of the struggle, God is working behind the scenes, preparing you for something greater. Stay strong in your faith, keep pressing forward, and remember that every obstacle is just another step toward fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.

When God places you in a position to destroy the enemy’s kingdom, opposition is not something to fear, but a sign that you are advancing in the kingdom of God. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.” Keep going, because you are closer to your breakthrough than you think.
